The Basic Dromida Kodo Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Novices

Product Description
You can’t help but notice this drone comes with an incredibly unique shape. Some might even suggest it looks like a beetle. The unique looks don’t detract from the Dromida Kodo’s ability to fly.

The Dromida Kodo ready to fly quadcopter with camera definitely comes off as an interesting device. In terms of ruggedness, the molded plastic has the potential to handle and survive unfortunate crashes. A lot of work went into making this a solid quadcopter to be sure.
What’s in the product package?

Here’s what you get: a Kodo quadcopter with camera, one 3.7V LiPo battery, Q105 radio control with 2.4 GHz technology along with two AAA batteries to power the controller, prop guards totalling four, a USB charger to support powering things up, four additional blades -- two black and two white -- and, thankfully, a detailed instruction manual. A card reader and a 2 GB memory card complete the package.

The camera built into the Kodo drone maintains the capability to capture pictures of 1.2 MP in jpeg format and 780 x 480 AVI format videos.

3- axis gyro and 3 accelerometers affixed to the quadcopter assist with stabilization during flight. The pilot won’t have too much difficulty maneuvering the copter thanks to the stabilizing feature. No one has to worry about putting the crash-resistant plastic copter together. The whole thing comes pre-assembled. Batteries are in the package too so you won’t need to go out and buy them.

The main effort you must put into things entails making initial adjustments and calibrations on the controller.

Mode 1 and Mode 2 on the controller makes it easier for the pilot to choose and configure controls with an eye on individual preferences. Secure Link Technology (SLT) supports establishing a totally secure and virtually unbreakable connection between the drone and the transmitter. Signals transfer soundly to support a safe flight.

The Kodo Quad unmanned aerial vehicle benefits from having distinct and separate buttons for still images and video. An auto-flip button serves as a nice feature allowing the drone to perform a 3D flip in a controlled manner.

The inclusion of bright LED lights further makes piloting and tracking a lot simpler.

Novices should enjoy this particular drone since its light in weight and there is a solid stabilizing system in place. Three flight modes can be engaged: Easy, Normal and Expert. Novices can take advantage of Easy mode while others can use the other two.

Everything is pre-assembled, but the prop guards do need to be fitted. Those flying indoors definitely want the prop guards in place.

Accidents and crashes may come with less damage thanks to the solid tough plastic used to make this quad. Since batteries are included, you can fly the drone right away without any delays.

Don’t look for any frills here as this unmanned aerial vehicle is a very basic model. The camera can be described as basic, too. The picture quality is average and the videos come with low resolution.

One other disadvantage here is the done comes with a very low cost so there is no First Person View (FPV) feature. As such, you won’t be able to see what you are shooting and you must record videos with a “hope” things turn out okay. The enclosed 2 GB SD card is a nice touch since this allows you to check out the videos you recorded for later viewing.

2GB doesn’t exactly allow for a lot of capacity to store a ton of videos, so the card isn’t the best inclusion. Fly time may also be a little short since there is only a single rechargeable LiPo battery included in the mix. The USB charger comes with a plug-in so you must connect it to a plug on the wall of a computer to get a charge.

No high-end features come with this particular drone, which makes it a simple, “practice purpose” drone. For those who are new to drone flying and want to get a little bit of experience, this quadcopter drone just might be the right one for you.
